No. SailComply helps you record and demonstrate the checks you have carried out. It does not replace the skipper’s responsibility for the safety, seaworthiness or regulatory compliance of the yacht, nor any physical inspection required by an organising authority.
A Skipper Inspection is your own recorded assessment of the yacht against the selected OSR category. It allows you to work through the requirements systematically and add supporting photographs and information.

No. An organising authority can still carry out inspections or request further evidence. SailComply provides a structured record of the skipper’s own assessment and can make the compliance process considerably easier for both skipper and organiser.

No. Safety at sea remains the responsibility of the person in charge. SailComply records information supplied through the assessment; acceptance of a submission should not be regarded as a guarantee of seaworthiness or safety.
If you are completing an assessment for a club or event, the organiser should tell you which OSR category is required. If you are using SailComply for your own purposes, you can select the category most appropriate to the sailing you intend to undertake.
We recommend keeping your yacht’s record updated throughout the year. A club may request an annual submission, while individual events may request a new or event-specific assessment.
